There are two common burnt characteristics of wire harness: one is that the wire harness is burnt by external fire source, at this time, there is obvious burnt coke black in the wire harness, and the burning is carried out from the outside to the inside; the other is that the wire harness is burnt due to circuit overload and severe heating of wire, and the burning starts from the inside to the outside. The main causes of wire harness burn out are as follows.

(1) The two terminals of ammeter usually adopt plastic insulating sleeve. The plastic has poor heat dissipation, so it has to bear not only strong current, but also turbulence and vibration. If the wiring is loose or the contact is poor, the temperature will rise, which will easily lead to the melting of the plastic, resulting in grounding and ablation of the power harness.

(2) The power wire harness is often fixed with thin iron pickup. Its edge is as sharp as a knife edge, and the surface of the iron pickup is not insulated. The vehicle vibrates and bumps during long-term driving. It is inevitable that the power wire harness will be worn through and cut, resulting in grounding and burning of the wire harness.

(3) During the temporary connection of electrical equipment, the current inlet and outlet of the fuse are not clear, that is, the power line is led out at will, or after the fuse is burned out, the same fuse is not replaced according to the specification, or the thick copper wire is used to replace the fuse, which loses the safety function and burns the wiring harness; the connection of the terminal is not reliable, resulting in large voltage drop and heating, and the insulation gasket will be damaged and short circuited after too long time In particular, the terminals behind the ammeter and other instruments must be connected reliably. In addition, the wire connecting screw fixed on the frame wiring board should not be too long to avoid grounding.

(4) When replacing the conductor, it is not selected according to the regulations, the conductor is too thin, the large voltage drop and heat are generated when the large current passes through, and the conductor skin is gradually aging and damaged.
