Surface treatment of 3M double-sided tape

The bonding surface must be clean, dry, smooth and free of rust and oil stain. During operation, avoid contact between fingers and the rubber surface, and press it with force after pasting to ensure full contact of the rubber surface.

① Firstly, Polish properly. It is recommended to use 3M clean flannelette to remove rust, increase micro contact area and improve bonding effect.

② For general surfaces, Double Sided Tape it is recommended to use the mixture of isopropanol alcohol (IPA) and water (the mixing ratio is 1:1) to clean oil and dust.

③ Clean and dry the bonding surface with a clean cloth or paper towel.

④ For some surfaces with large roughness, many meshes, extremely easy to be wet (such as glass) and will produce chemical reaction (such as brass), pretreatment is required. Primer is recommended.

① Small area adhesive: in order to achieve good bonding effect, Double Sided Tapea certain pressure must be applied to the tape and bonding surface to make the tape fully contact with the bonding surface. It is recommended to use scraper or roller.

② Adhesive with large area and long span: in order to achieve good bonding effect, certain pressure must be applied to the tape and bonding surface to make the tape fully contact with the bonding surface, and the weight shall be pressed for an average of 12 hours to increase the contact between the tape and the surface of the adhesive, or clamped evenly with a clamp to make the tape fully contact with the surface of the adhesive.

③ The bonding pressure is 25psi: the adhesive tape must be in full contact with the pasted object and must not be used on seriously uneven surfaces.

time

3M double-sided adhesive tape has initial adhesion. It is preliminarily cured in 24 hours to reach 80% of hardness, but it takes 72 hours to reach the maximum strength. During this period, structural operation must be carried out in a hurry.

temperature

The operating temperature of 3M double-sided tape should not be lower than 10 ℃, because the temperature is too low, which greatly reduces the initial adhesion of the tape and prolongs the curing time.

If the temperature is too low, the bonding material and tape can be moved into a warm room for storage or heating treatment before operation, or the ultra-strong 3M double-sided tape of 3M company for low temperature operation can be used.

If the construction requires immediate structural operation, the heating temperature of the adhesive and tape can be increased by about 50-70 ℃. Double Sided TapeHeat for about 30 minutes and increase the pressure.
